Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid US Class B CDL (Tanker & Air Brakes) with a clean motor vehicle report
  • Ability to read a map and use a computer

Qualifications

Before the end of the 90 day training period the employee must obtain the following:

  • OSHA General Contractor Certification (10 Hour)
  • MSHA New Miner (24 Hour) (If Needed)
  • PEC Premiere Basic Orientation
  • SafeLandUSA Certification (If Needed)
  • First-Aid/CPR Certification
  • Vactor HXX Hydro-Excavator Certification
  • Contracted Company’s Orientation
  • Line Finders Procedure/Protocol Certification

Hydro-Vacuum Excavator Operator

Pay

  • $17.00 – $21.00 per hour

Essential Job Functions

  • 70% or more of the job’s work time is spent assisting the Hydrovac Operator operating the on-board hydro-vacuum system outside the truck
  • Other hydrovac work consists of tank entry, cleaning and vacuuming, mobilization of equipment, truck maintenance, safety meetings, etc.
  • Properly document all company and Customer documentation/paperwork as required by law and or established policy in a clear and legible manner.
  • Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-sight customer representative to locate least intrusive and safest place to park company equipment while on job sight.
  • Able to lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties/tasks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Able to troubleshoot and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment.

Essential Physical Functions/Requirements

  • Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
  • Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
  • Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
  • Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable.
  • Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
  • Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts.

Requirements

  • An ideal candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Minimum of 1-year Oil & Gas
  • Applicant shall agree to initial drug/alcohol testing and random testing thereafter
  • Possess a current and valid DOT medical certificate.
  • Criminal background check and safety performance verification will be conducted.
  • Valid Driver license preferred.
  • Safety mindedness is essential.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours. (Due to client schedule, our operators may not work every day but must be flexible for irregular hours).

Utility Locator

Job Duties (including but not limited to)

  • Respond to locate requests within legal time limit.
  • Schedule and monitor line crossings/excavations to ensure integrity of utilities is kept.
  • Complete required paperwork for locates and line crossings / excavations.
  • Report any/all One-Call violations to Supervisor.
  • Document and educate third party contractors in violation of One Call Law.
  • Perform all tasks pertaining to line crossing:
    • Determine crossing location by referencing maps
    • Contact excavating contractor to review crossing
    • Use line locator to locate line, probe and stake line
    • Monitor/inspect (oversee) actual line crossing and complete crossing report.
  • Take appropriate measures (e.g. awareness follow up procedures/cease digging) to ensure the integrity of the pipeline during abnormal right-of-way conditions (any excavation near the line) and follow up with supervisor.
  • Perform all tasks pertaining to pipeline repair, pipeline integrity and line
    crossings/excavations using appropriate Company procedures.
  • Complete required OSHA Training and Operator Qualifications on all required covered tasks prior to performing work independently and oversee those not qualified when required.
  • Monitor/inspect (oversee) hydro-vac exposure of utilities, when required.
  • Ensure ROW signage/markings meet Company requirements.
  • Receive and respond to WY Emergency One Call Tickets as quickly as possible.
  • Resolve conflicts, questions or concerns that arise through the WY One Call System.
  • Respond to questions excavators might have during and prior to excavation
  • Participate in excavation incident and line strike investigations
  • Assist with implementation of corrective actions from investigations.
  • Enforce Companies excavation and one call policy, including stopping work if an excavator does not meet all requirements.
  • Assist with training on line locating and new programs for new employees and contractors.
  • Maintain (clean/inspect) company vehicle, equipment and housing.
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable utility locating experience is preferred
  • Must be organized with an attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding and use of computers
  • Valid driver’s license (Clean MVR) and Social Security Card
  • Effective at coordinating job details with others (multitasking)
  • Good communications and people skills
  • Knowledge of pipeline systems and safety
